Review Beyond LIVE NCT : Resonance 'Global Wave', Thank You NCT You Save My 2020 and I Hope NCTzen Save Yours Too

I actually know NCT since their The 7th Sense era, cause I used to be a hardcore SM stan. But I began my journey as an NCTzen during the We Boom era in August. It not directly because of that particular album tho. Han Daegang or Na Jaemin's Method To Hate You brought me to the Neo Chaos Technology. Thanks a lot, Nana and Youtube. 

Anyway, 2020 has been such a roller coaster year for every living things in this universe. Pandemic happen and causing a lot of problems here and there. May the victims rest in peace. As a try-to-be-positive person, I do believe that there'll be a rainbow after the heavy storm. If there is no rainbow, an umbrella, or an invention, will do help us. 

Covid-19 causing a lot of changes, including the music industry. Thousands of concerts canceled or postponed, while the people still need to live. South Korea is one of the few countries that has the biggest entertainment industry. Pandemic means the decreasing of their income.  As time goes by, they invent some new tech to not stop the music. One of the greatest inventions of the music industry that exists this year is Beyond LIVE Concert.

SM Entertainment and Vlive create this concert for the fans who eager to see their idols but unfortunately fail due to the pandemic and physical distancing. Beyond LIVE, just like another concert, is a payable virtual concert that we can see from our home. All you need is to install the Vapp or open vlive.tv, login your account, buying the ticket, and voila! You may see your beloved idols' live performances legally. The concert isn't like a regular concert that we used to see on the stage. Some amazing AR may show up, the background's screen is bigger, and the stage is wide so we may see some different angles of the performance. We also may connect our lightsticks and have a live interaction with the members. Nevertheless, it's a good virtual concert that you can see from your gadget.

Is it better than an offline concert? No, definitely not. The atmosphere is so different and it's the biggest loss. We also won't see the members directly with our eyes which is means no fancam, no shaking hands, no seeing Yuta's smile live... But, in contrast, the online concert is relatively cheaper and it can be watched everywhere. No butthurt because your country apparently not exists in your idols' entertainment map, need to fly to another country, or lining up to enter the concert hall since early in the morning. Plus, one ticket Beyond LIVE can be used for 2 devices during the live concert and 5 devices for VOD so we may share the ticket price. But ofc not everyone can afford the ticket, especially during these hard times. The best advice is try to save your money for the best thing. Saving for another concert, saving to buy the new album, or maybe not buy any KPop related things at all. Please, do what the best for you and your life.

For a baby NCTzen like me, watching Beyond LIVE NCT: Resonance 'Global Wave' is one of the best moments of my life this year. People may say that I was just lucky to stan NCT at the right time when they got famous this year. Haha yes but maybe no. Since around last year, I keep saying that NCT's concert with the full members will be an epic concert and I want to see it badly. SME CEO Chris Lee already spoiled the whole NCT 2020 concert during The World Cultural Industry Forum. It successfully triggers (the fever) me to save my money, buy the ticket, and enjoy the show. And what happened next? I transfer my money to buy the sharing ticket.

Beyond LIVE NCT: Resonance 'Global Wave' is successful to satisfy me. 

First, Mr. Jung Jaehyun welcomed us with his Boss outfit. I immediately had inner screaming. They would sing THE LEGENDARY SONG BOSS! Sungchan covered Taeyong was a big surprise. He looked good tho. His duo part with Mark was surprisingly well. Mark, I glad you aren't afraid of Sungchan anymore. Next songs were the newest, 90's Love and Work It. 

And finally people, all citizens of this world must know that WAYV SANG NECTAR LIVE ON STAGE! Ten intro was so sexy~ This song is actually my favorite subunits' songs of Resonance and it may be biased but they killed the stage. The reff choreography was beautiful. Yeah, they did dancing in the moonlight. Although, the stage will be a lot better if they put like mysterious night vibes with moonlight that shines above them.

NCT also performed their previous releases from this year, Kick It, Ridin, and Bad Alive. They also tried to bring back NCT 2018 by performed Boss, Baby Don't Stop, and GO. I actually pretty shocked when they performed The 7th Sense and Touch. It did bring a lot of memories, right? Shotaro covered Taeyong's part on The 7th Sense was amazing. He's a good dancer after all. Touch performance was good, but... I don't really want to talk bout it. What ever happened behind the stage, I'm sad and angry why it did happen. 

They ofc performed the 2020's main tracks; 90's Love, Work It, Frome Home, and Make A Wish. But the main highlight for me yesterday was the other songs that haven't been performed live yet. Faded In My Last Song is my favorite song from this album and they did it amazingly with the video mapping tech. My Everything stage with three NCT's main vocalists was *chef kiss*. Yangyang also successfully covered Taeyong's part on Light Bulb and it was so sentimental. Yes, SME ballad songs are indeed superb. Ah, I almost forget All About You stage. The stage was designed as house and the members used the camera to video call. It was cute.

There was a few moments when I did want to cry. One of those was Without You ot4 version with Taeil, Kun, Doyoung, and Jaehyun. As you know, the original song was sung by three singers withour Kun. Kun Ge only sung the Chinese version and it almost unwell known. Last noon, I literally hold my breath cause finally our da ge got the recognition that he deserved since 2016. Qian Kun is actually one of the most talented idols or person that I ever see in my whole life. He can fly a plane! I remember NCT 2018 era when he used to only smile and couldn't do anything since he didn't have any song. Now, the reality turn completely.

Another cry moment was when Sungchan almost cried during his last commentary. I felt you, Sungchannie. But as the chaotic group, NCT didn't comfort him, they encouraged him to cry. But not until one of the Dreamies said that Jisung would be cry too. Guys, come on! You made me laugh in the right place to cry. Goodbye the sentimental me ~

As the first Beyond LIVE concert that I watch live, it's a good concert but not extravagant. With 40 $ ticket for 2.5 hours, it was worth it. What's my standard of saying some performance is amazing? Try to watch NCT 2020 performance during MAMA 2020 or Road to Kingdom. Beyond LIVE NCT still amazing too but slightly leaving an empty feeling inside me. I couldn't feel the high tension but the new songs performances almost covered it. I can't wait to see the behind cam and VOD! 

It isn't that I'm not satisfied but somehow it feels so short. We need more songs! I do understand that there're 22 members that perform yesterday, minus our amazing hardworking dancing machine Lee "Bubu on the inside TY Track on the outside" Taeyong. But, there're a lot of songs left behind. I have seen some "album concerts" where the idol held concerts based on their promotion of the album, I think it's BTS, iKON, or Big Bang. During that concert, they only sang the songs from their recent album with the exception of maybe a couple important songs like their debut song. And that's it. Beyond LIVE NCT" Resonance is different. They also sang some songs from the subunit that weren't from the Resonance album. It might cause 2 sides: good sides, we could watch the subunits' performances; bad sides, the time slots for other songs were limited. No offense tho, I love all the songs. It's such a pity for NCT 127 to not perform Music, Dance unlike Dreamies-Deja Vu or WayV-Nectar. Idk it was related to Taeyong's absence or not, but we need Music, Dance performance! 

The song list is a bit messy too, I guess. They put some last songs with recent songs. Idk how the stage director arranged the song list of a concert, but it felt jumpy(?). In my opinion, it's better to put the old songs in the first half to get that nostalgic feeling and ask fans to see the improvement of the singers since the last time they sing those older songs. I actually kinda believe that although the concert was live, there were some songs that pre-recorded because there weren't multi-cams for individual members during those songs. But the switcher staff, who switch every camera angle shot every live performance, arranged it according to the list. So... yeah a better flow song list maybe will work.

Another sad, weird, but a pity thing is why they put From Home in the middle of the concert. To match the atmosphere with My Everything and Light Blub, maybe? It's highly likely yes. Why they don't put From Home, the memorable song for NCT and NCTzen on the last stage, tho? You wanna see NCTzen cry? Sing From Home in the last part, please. Yes, Resonance is like the last song that summarizes all NCT 2020 era. It deserves to be the last stage. Okay, so put From Home rearranged ver. before it with 22 members. Gives a commentary interlude that almost sounds like an ending speech between them and blasts with Resonance in the last stage. The impact and after taste will be bigger that way. 

Again, I don't dislike the concert. It's my first concert with NCT and it'll be hard to forget. But a few little things that make me sad because the concert director probably could make better concert, including some better cameras work for the stage. One thing surely making me mad tho, like NOT PUTTING WINWIN THE MOST TOUCH MEMBER ON THE TOUCH STAGE WITH NCT 127!!! Winwin is forever an NCT 127 member until the official statement proves it not! I'm a new fan and I'm angry too. But yeah, let's save it for SME and keep the positivity here. 

Another crazy suggestion for an upcoming NCT concert is putting 3 versions of Regular as the opening of the concert. Imagine an opening stage when NCT 127 performs Regular Eng. version, then Winwin turns to sing the Chinese ver. with WayV, and the last Dreamies and NCT 127 join the stage to sing Regular Korean ver. It'll be epic. Until next time, keep (jumpin' and poppin') dreaming and clowning cause "Yeah, We clowning. We clown together", right?

Lastly, thank you Na Jaemin for being Han Daegang. Thank you Nakamoto Yuta for spreading your advice and savageness to me and becoming my ultimate bias. Thank you WayV's songs for proving my assumption that NCT's genre is difficult to hear is 100% wrong. Thank you all NCT vines makers on Youtube for posting such a chaotic video of NCT that actually attract me to join the fandom. Thank you Boss, Take Off, Boom, and SOTY Kick It for opening my ears. And cause I save the best for the last, taenk you (TY thank you during MAMA 2020 thank you relay) jitenyurenhaetaeyangxiaowinshojentaejungjaejohnhenluchendokunjaemasung!
